This video was produced to comprehensively demonstrate the 5 main phases of anaesthesia including: 1) patient evaluation and planning, 2) premedication, 3) induction, 4) maintenance and, 5) recovery. Each phase is described in great deal highlighting the most current, best practices in the performance of anaesthesia. The patient in the video is a 4 year old, male, neutered Labrador Retriever requiring an oral heath examination, teeth scaling and polishing. Alfaxan® Anaesthesia Injection is administered as the induction anaesthesia the video. After watching the video the veterinarian and technician should have a good appreciation of how to best prepare and perform anaesthesia in each individual patient.
